Event production
Aftermovie
An aftermovie is a short video recap of an event, made after it ends. It captures the atmosphere, key moments and attendee reactions, and is mostly used to promote the next edition.
What it means in practice
An aftermovie has two different jobs and you have to pick the primary one. Either it is a sales tool for the next edition, in which case it needs attendee quotes and numbers, or it is a keepsake for people who were there, in which case atmosphere and music are enough.
From production experience: the most important decision is made before anyone starts filming, and it is agreeing who and what we must get on camera. Without that you end up with a nice video missing the keynote speaker and the sponsor who paid for the event.
